Scuba Diving for Beginners

For all those of you who are lured by the deep blue sea, but never have had the opportunity to attempt a close encounter with the underwater magic, here is your chance to discover the excitement of scuba diving, the adventure, the freedom and the serenity of the seas of Crete.

• The Try Scuba Diving program takes approximately 1 and a half hours, including a 30 minute theory session conducted by one of our professionals. This is followed by a dive in our pool or in confined water (shallow water in front of our dive center) where divers practice a few basic diving skills. Then the program involves a Confined Water dive to a maximum depth of 5 meters for approximately 30 minutes.

The Try Scuba Diving program lets you experience the thrill of diving under the supervision of a SSI Instructor in ideal conditions.

• The Try Scuba Kids program introduces scuba diving as an activity that allows children from 8 to 10 years old to experience the underwater world. It’s fun, easy and safe!

Under close supervision by an SSI professional, participants swim around on scuba in shallow confined water up to 2m maximum. The dive takes place in the bay of Agia Pelagia, just in front of our dive center and the whole program lasts for about an hour.

• The Basic Diver program is a program we do twice a day, at 09.30 and then at 12.45, and will take up only three hours of your time. It involves a 30-minute instruction period in the basic principles of diving and the use of the basic equipment required.

This is followed by a dive in our pool or in confined water (shallow water in front of our dive center) where divers practice a few basic diving skills. Then the program involves an Open Water dive to a maximum depth of 10 meters for approximately 45 minutes.

The Basic Diver experience is a great way to get a head start on your Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver certification.

• Basic Diver plus Boat is the perfect choice if you would like to enjoy a day full of diving.

This program is the same like the Basic Diver and additionally it gives you the chance to do a boat dive at one of our beautiful reefs at a maximum depth of 12 meters.

The most common dive sites a beginner can visit after completing the Basic Diver program are Daedalos, Mononaftis or Lygaria.
